OMG! I think I cracked the code! Is Romy autistic? I mean this in the nicest way, but she seems incredibly autistic coded. I have no Idea how I never noticed it until just now!
Yes, she is!! And what’s funny is that it wasn’t really intentional from the start. Romy was taking a lot from my own neurodivergent experiences, and that was before I got diagnosed with autism myself. A lot of autistic readers resonated with Romy and that’s how I realized I was unintentionally writing her that way… and now it’s definitely intentional! : ) It’s also how I know I have autism too, and I have my readers to thank for that. Haha!
