It so often is never about what’s happening right now, but about something that happened in the past…
It really is. Gosh it’s something I think about all the time with my characters in SlumberTown, since it’s a space where past and present tend to confront each other head-on as they work through their various struggles and trauma. There’s explanations for the way Boone behaves; he gets easily defensive, reactive and protective at times, which for me is specifically tied to how much he was bullied growing up.
