LOL yeah, I always really try to emphasize Romy’s anxiety when it comes to her social interactions with people. Something I loved about this scene when I originally wrote it is that Romy gets to that point in comforting Boone where she worries she’s not even “comforting him right” and Boone can just slip back into big brother mode with ease. It’s something I really like about their friendship in particular. Romy can be really empathetic and insightful but tends to lack the confidence to say what’s on her mind. And Boone might struggle with a lot of things but he’s really good at building up and encouraging Romy’s confidence.
