Book 1: The Pearl
What would you do if you lived in a place… where you couldn’t tell dream from reality?
Socially anxious Romy is the newest resident to move into Slumber – a strange and unusual desert ghost town. Though she can’t quite remember why she moved there, she’s determined to set herself on a search for connection, identity and friendship.
Her first day at her new job involves a mission to locate a lost pearl, which brings Romy and her coworkers of the Lost and Found to the town’s (allegedly) haunted motel. Mystery phone calls, memory loss, and strange waking nightmares are only the tip of the iceberg for Romy, though, who still finds herself struggling immensely with her anxiety and lack of confidence.
And even then, there are bigger questions:
How did the residents of Slumber get there? Why are they there? And how do they find their way home?
Special Episode 1: Partly Cloudy
Romy’s new friend, Boone, has a bit of a problem.
He’s forgetful. Forgetful, absentminded and easily confused. Though memory loss isn’t unusual for residents of Slumber, Boone’s brain fog is so extreme that he often finds himself unintentionally stirring up trouble.
When Boone’s cloudy head inadvertently creates a polar vortex on the hottest day in town, it’s up to him and his friends to weather the chaos (and Boone’s insecurities) to return the sun back to Slumber.
… even if it means taking it back from a giant weather-eating plant.
Book 2: Labyrinth
The residents in Slumber have started wandering in the desert for longer periods of time.
When Slumber’s youngest resident, 6-year-old Alex disappears overnight, the Lost and Found crew must journey across desert dunes and into the depths of the Slumber caverns to find him. They might have to rely on the help of their only neighbor with a car in order get there.
Meanwhile, Romy’s been seeing visions of an unfamiliar stranger in their memories. Who are they? And are they related somehow to the recent wanderings?
And with the mystery caller still counting on Romy for help, it seems as though Alex isn’t the only person she’s searching for.
